George brings over fifteen years of global investment management experience to Guardian Capital Advisors LP. George is responsible for the development, implementation and management of international portfolios for onshore and offshore institutions, family office and HNW clients.
Prior to his move to Guardian Capital George worked at IBM in corporate finance in Toronto, as a hedge fund analyst with the Bank of Bermuda and then as a portfolio manager with HSBC Private Bank in Bermuda for institutions, family trusts, foundations and private clients. George has been directly involved in the oversight and selection process for third party managers for international fixed income and equity funds.
George has an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree – Finance Major from the University of Windsor and a MSc in Financial Economics from the University of London, UK. George has a professional Financial Risk Management degree awarded by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
George is Chairman of the Investment Committee for the wealth management business for Guardian Capital Advisors LP and co-manages equity and bond private client and institutional strategies.
He is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). George is also a former Governor of the Bermuda Society of Financial Analysts.
