Michael came to Guardian in 2004 and in addition to working with Private Clients, is also the co-manager of the "Canadian Plus" global mutual fund. He began his career in 1994 at a national retail brokerage firm and then moved to the investment counselling business to become Partner / Director, Private Client Portfolio Management for Alberta's largest independent asset management firm. Immediately prior to joining Guardian, Michael was a Senior Portfolio Manager at a bank-owned investment counsel in Vancouver.
Michael has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Maine and also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of British Columbia. He is a CFA charterholder, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).
Michael and his wife Tina have two daughters, leaving barely enough time for his passions of reading and playing hockey. Michael also volunteers by participating in committees at CFA Vancouver, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, and Crofton House School.
